Darklands Festival Antwerp 2027: dates, dress code and outfit tips
Beyond Darklands returns to Antwerp from 16 through 22 February 2027. The edition is called The Ember Dunes and takes place at Waagnatie Expo & Events. The multi-day programme combines a daytime festival, Darklands Village, shopping, gear, shows, experiences and major night parties.

The Ember Dunes gets a completely new Main Stage
For the 2027 edition, Darklands is developing a completely new concept for the Midnight Show and an entirely new Main Stage. On 19 August 2026, the organisation announced that the first creative brainstorming session and initial set design had begun. For The Ember Dunes, the stage environment is being built from scratch rather than building on the set of a previous edition. More details about the final design and show will be announced later.

Homecoming is included with a Daytime Festival ticket, Full Madness Pass or Ultimate Alpha Pass. Storm, Fusion, Rage and Fury can also be booked separately while capacity remains. The full DJ line-up is not yet known for every part of the programme.
First DJ for Fury confirmed
DJ Pol opens Fury on Sunday 21 February 2027. He won the official Darklands DJ Contest 2027 on 19 August and secured a place on the closing party line-up. DJ Pol was born in Ghent, lives in the Netherlands and plays styles including classic trance, goa/psy and melodic techno. The remaining DJ line-up for Fury and the other parties will be announced later.
Bootblack Europe 2027 returns
From Friday through Sunday, the Daytime Festival will again feature a Bootblack Station. The focus is on caring for and polishing leather gear, but also on craft, tradition and connection within the fetish community. Darklands is once again organising the Bootblack Europe title competition. According to the organiser, applications are open until Sunday 17 January 2027. Guest bootblacks are also welcome to join the stand. Darklands recommends a minimum tip of €10 per item serviced.
Current ticket status
According to the official ticket barometer, updated on 9 September 2026, the Ultimate Alpha Pass (€279) and Full Madness Pass (€169) are sold out. Daytime Festival (€54) is 88% sold, Storm (€39) 93%, Fusion (€67) 88%, Rage (€74) 92% and Fury (€39) 95%. Horsefair Mare and Horsefair Stallion are sold out; 127 tickets remained for Horsefair Stallion – Wave 2 (€15) at the latest update. Ticket status can change at any time.
Locker availability is also decreasing. The large full-event locker, large Saturday locker and small full-event locker are sold out. Always check the current ticket and locker status with Darklands before buying.
The organisation warns about counterfeit tickets. Buy through Darklands itself or a secure resale channel named by the organisation.
Tickets at the door
According to Darklands, tickets can also be bought at the entrance during the festival while capacity allows. Official door prices are €50 for Daytime Festival, €45 for Storm, €65 for Fusion, €75 for Rage and €45 for Fury.
What is Beyond Darklands?
Darklands is more than a single night party. During the day, the venue focuses on brands, makers, art, talks, demonstrations, workshops and performances. Later, the focus shifts to music, dancing and play spaces.
Getting to Waagnatie
Waagnatie Expo & Events is located at Rijnkaai 150 in Antwerp. According to Darklands, trams 7 and 24 and bus 17 take you within walking distance. Trams and buses run regularly from Antwerp Central Station towards the venue. If you are coming by car, take into account paid parking in the area and Antwerp's low-emission zone. Due to construction work, parking directly in front of Waagnatie is not available.
Darklands dress code
Darklands has a clear fetish and gear culture. According to the organisation's general information, jeans with a dark T-shirt are accepted as a minimum basis, but a deliberate fetish, sportswear or underwear look fits the atmosphere much better.
Common styles include leather, rubber, neoprene, PVC, sportswear, skins, army, uniforms, pup gear, underwear, superhero gear and ABDL.
Admission and house rules
The Daytime Festival is open to all genders. For the night parties, the official Darklands website currently provides conflicting information. The general festival and party FAQ describes the night parties as male-centric and says cis men, trans men, and masc-presenting and androgynous non-binary visitors are welcome when they feel comfortable in that setting. Another official page about the playrooms still states that all night parties are only accessible to men and trans men. Because these primary sources do not agree, it is currently not possible to establish which wording is definitive for 2027. Check the current admission rules directly with Darklands before buying a ticket. Darklands also organises a separate FLINTA programme.
Phones, filming and photography are not permitted in the playrooms. Shoes are mandatory, respecting boundaries is central and “no” means no.
Smoking is prohibited inside the buildings, including e-cigarettes. Designated smoking areas are available and there is also a Low Stimulus Room in Classroom 2. It opens at 10:30 PM; during Fury on Sunday it opens at 9:00 PM. Free earplugs are available.

Practical tips
- choose the right size and test your outfit beforehand;
- wear broken-in shoes;
- bring clean underwear or an extra top;
- book a locker in advance;
- request a refund of any remaining Darkband balance between 28 February and 8 March 2027; a €1 service fee applies;
- check which days and parties are included with each ticket;
- keep an eye on your drink and belongings;
- check the timetable again shortly before departure.
